ERIC CLAYTON SPENCER, SR.
Eric Clayton Spencer, Sr., 74, of Beattyville, KY, passed away Friday, July 22, 2005 at his residence.
He was born April 11, 1931 in Breathitt County, KY, the son of Clayton and Josephine C. (Banks) Spencer. He was a milkman/farmer and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Zareda Spencer of Beattyville, KY; children, Loretta (Bill) Wright of Shelby Township, MI, Rodney (Tami) Spencer of Seguin, TX, Ruth Spencer and Eric Clayton (Melissa) Spencer, Jr., all of Beattyville, KY; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; sisters, Eloise (Martin) Barker and Alma (Eugene) Deaton all of Beattyville, KY, Irene Griffith of Redford, MI.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Edward Spencer.
Funeral services for Eric Spencer Sr. were held Monday, July 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher David Spencer officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery, Beattyville, KY with Newnam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
NERVIA JANE STAMPER ARVIN
Nervia Jane Stamper Arvin, 84, of Beattyville, KY, widow of Hebert Arvin, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the Marcum-Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine, KY.
She was born September 3, 1920 in Estill County, KY, the daughter of Ambrose and Betty (Warner) Stamper. She was a cook at Pinecrest Youth Camp and member of the Pinecrest First Church of God.
Survivors are children, Douglas (Myra) Arvin of Howard, OH, Telitha Jane (Elwood) Charles of Columbus, OH, Ray (June) Arvin, Hebert Wayne (Eva) Arvin, James Lee (Margie Overbee) Arvin, Shirley (Forest) Estes, Lucille (Stanley) Lumpkins, all of Beattyville, KY; eight grandsons, six granddaughters, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and one great great step grandson.
She was preceded in death by husband, parents, and a daughter Geneva, four brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services for Nervia Arvin were held Friday, July 22, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Pinecrest First Church of God with Rev. Richard Wilkerson officiating. Burial was in the Beatty Place Cemetery on Yellow Rock Road with Newnam Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
CLAY MCINTOSH
Clay McIntosh, 69, husband of Nadine (Helton) McIntosh, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2005, at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born August 24, 1935, in Owsley County, KY, to the late Alfred and Minnie Mae (Mosley) McIntosh. He was a lifetime resident of Owsley County and a former farmer and mechanic. He also served as a minister, and attended the Altro Church of God.
Along with his wife of 47 years, Nadine McIntosh, he is survived by three sons, Ricky, Randall and Ronald McIntosh all of Booneville, KY; five daughters, Sheila Banks of Breathitt County, KY, Vickie Wilson and Sandra Noble both of Booneville, KY, and Gayle Bray and Vedis Todd both of Beattyville, KY; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Beech McIntosh of Frankfort, KY, and Raymond McIntosh of Owenton, KY; one sister, Hazel Sorrell of Munice, IN; and a host of friends and relatives.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wilson McIntosh.
Funeral services for Clay McIntosh were held Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at 1 p.m .in the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Burial in the Cow Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
