- NAOMI D. WHITAKER
Naomi D. Whitaker, 72, Xenia, OH, passed away Monday, May 9, 2005, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born May 8, 1933, in Beattyville, Ky., the daughter of Verner E. and Effie Stewart Davis. She retired from the Xenia School System, member of the Faith Community United Methodist Church, member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #2034178, Beattyville, Ky., Green County and Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and the Greene County Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband, Roy E. Whitaker, daughter and son-in-law, Shelia (William) Thurman, Beavercreek, OH, and a son and daughter-in-law, Steve (Monica) Whitaker, Paintsville, Ky., four grandchildren, Justin Thurman, Ryan Thurman, Tyler Whitaker and Joseph Whitaker, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ola (Adalene) Davis, and Curtis (Sue) Davis, all Beattyville, Ky., and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Lee (Von) Abner, Beattyville, Ky. and Clair (Maurice) McNay, Marietta, Ca., and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eunice and Winna Jean.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2005, at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 100 Country Club Dr., Xenia, with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Beattyville, Ky. on Saturday, May 14, 2005. Neeld Funeral Home is in charge of services in Xenia. Newnam Funeral Home is in charge of services in Beattyville. Visitation is 6:30-8 p.m. Friday and graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday.

GRACIE (SPICER) TURNER
Gracie (Spicer) Turner, 87, widow of Herbert Turner, formerly of Breathitt County, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY.
She was born at Altro, KY, in Breathitt County, on January 17, 1918, to the late Ernest and Kate (Bryant) Spicer. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Altro Church of God.
Survivors include three sons, Jackie (and Sandy) Turner of Franklin, OH, Hobert (and Eileen) Turner of Carlisle, OH, and Charlie (and Melinda) Turner of Booneville, KY; one daughter, Janet (and Don) Trimble of Carlisle, OH; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Other survivors include a special niece, Jeraldean (and Mitch) Smith of Canoe, KY; 1 sister, Cora Spicer of Deerborn Heights, MI; 1 brother, Robert Spicer of Franklin, OH; and a host of friends and relatives.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services will be Friday, May 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY, with Rev. J. Jamison Brunk and Rev. Chris Turner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, at the funeral home, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Burial in the Jackson Cemetery, Jackson, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Smith and her grandsons, Michael Trimble, Steven Trimble, Anthony Trimble, Nathaniel Turner, and Chris Turner.

ORIENA (BURTON) SMITH
Oriena (Burton) Smith, 88, widow of Albert Smith, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY.
She was born December 15, 1916, in Breathitt County, KY, to the late John and Dulcenia (Turner) Burton, and she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sister, Martha Gabbard of Booneville, KY; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives.
Along with her husband, and her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Burial in the Esau Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

BARBARA (CONGLETON) CODY KING
Barbara (Congleton) Cody King, 52, wife of Harold King, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Mrs. King was born in Springfield, OH, on September 28, 1952, to Luther and Mattie (Rowlette) Congleton. She was an employee of ACS in Beattyville, KY, and attended the Baptist Church.
Along with her husband and her parents, she is survived by 1 son, Paul Christopher Cody of Cantonment, FL; 2 daughters, Dana Marie Cody of Pensacola, FL, and Jamie Louise Grey of Jackson, KY; 1 brother, Roger Dale Congleton of Booneville, KY; 1 sister, Verlene Neace of Booneville, KY; 3 grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives.
A memorial service will be Sunday, May 15, 2005, 5 p.m., at the Cow Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil Herald officiating. Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
