NICHOLAS BUDD ROBBINS
Nicholas Budd Robbins, 75, of Georgetown, KY, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2005 at his residence.
He was born October 21, 1929 in Lee County, KY, the son of Nicholas B. and Nellie S. (Cockerham) Robbins. He was a quality engineer with IBM and veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served as Supply Sergeant, Radio Operator.
Survivors are four children, Nick Robbins, Melissa Robbins, Rebecca Robbins, Steve Robbins; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Corey, Joseph and Noah Robbins; sister, Emma Lee Smith of Beattyville, KY; two foster children, Kristen Estes and William Spencer.
Funeral services for Nick Robbins were held Sunday, October 9, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jeff Porter and Nick Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Proctor Cemetery, Beattyville, KY.
CHRISTINE QUILLEN
Christine (Mays) Quillen, 92, widow of Wayne Quillen, of Lexington, KY, passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Lexington Country Place in Lexington, KY.
She was born December 3, 1912, in Lee County, KY, to the late John and Dora (Ross) Mays. She was a homemaker and a member of the North View Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.
Survivors are one son, John (& Ann) Quillen of Hazard, KY; one daughter Wilma (& Tom) Kelly of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Mayes of Booneville, KY; and a a host of friends and relatives.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Allene Bowling and Florence Haught.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Z. Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Quillen/Flannery Cemetery, Pebworth, KY.
OUTNEY L. SMITH
Outney L. (Noble) Smith, 63, of Southfork Apartments, Booneville, KY, widow of Kelly Smith, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at her residence.
She was born June 9, 1942 in Wolfe County, KY, the daughter of the late Floyd and Orpha (Roberts) Noble. She was a homemaker and a cook for the former Fill Zone.
Survivors are three sons, Randall Wayne (& Vonda) Smith, Keith ( & Michelle) Smith, and Carl (& Pam) Smith, all of Beattyville, KY; one brother, Sterling Noble of Cincinnati, Oh; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and host of friends and relatives.
Along with her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Kelly Daniel, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 7, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L.C. Easterling officiating. Burial was in the Esau Gabbard Cemetery, Indian Creek, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Dino Marsh, Keith, Carl, Randall and Daniel Smith and Tommy Ratliff.
LOGAN MARSHEL BOWLING
Logan Marshel Bowling, 63, husband of Alpha (Turner) Bowling, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 at his residence.
He was born April 27, 1942 in Altro, KY, to the late Johnny and Armine (Deaton) Bowling. He was a employee of the former Sun Chemical in Cincinnati, OH, a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Newport, KY, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Newport, KY.
Along with his wife of 27 years, Alpha Bowling, he is survived by six sons, Scott Heminway of VT, Wayne Bowling of Burlington, KY, Marshel Massengale of Crittenden, KY, Gary Herring of Falmouth, KY, Todd Herring of Beattyville, KY, and Justin Herring of Booneville, KY; five daughters, Marsha Bowling and Tracy Turner both of Booneville, KY, Tonya Horn and Lana Royalty both of Williamstown, KY, Paula Herring of OH; 21 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; two brothers, David Bowling of Franklin, OH, and Jacky Bowling of Williamstown, KY; three sisters, Millie Turner of Booneville, KY, Thelma Oaks of Scottsburg, IN and Betty Wilson of Covington, KY; and a host of friends and relatives.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bowling officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Booneville, KY.
Pallbearers were Paul Short, Larry Turner, Chester Rice, Eugene Reed, Jr., Chuck Smith and Roger Reed.
